More about Dr. Markus?

  • German movement researcher, dancer, singer and holistic dance educator
  • Residing in Vienna (Austria) and Taipei (Taiwan)
  • PhD in Mathematics
  • Studying and teaching many forms of dance, movement awareness and classical singing in relation to body movement for more than 10 years
  • Granted a professional artist work permit by the Ministry of Culture of Taiwan
  • Most of the research work originates from a long-term, close collaboration with World Champion Lasse Ødegaard – one of the world’s leading dance teachers

  • Create a natural expression from within by “Being in touch” with yourself, your fellow people, the space and the music to let movements be created out of internal sensation – rather than external advice
  • Become aware of thought patterns to train them like training patterns of movements
  • Gain confidence in one’s own performance quality by sensing “oneself in it” – to let the expression become as unique as a finger print
  • Let the movement follow an internal flow of sensation, awareness or breath
  • Take into account the whole body to create musical phrasing and space awareness
  • Embody music through classical singing techniques – use the voice as a resonance or guidance of the inner vibration of movements
  • Guide the reaction force from the floor to create any body position and to project energy into the space to let body parts be moved in space (氣與力合)
